Barry's Tea Gold Blend Tea Bags - 80 Count | Premium Irish Black Tea | Perfect for Morning Boost & Afternoon Relaxation

I bought Barry’s tea for myself and then for my Irish American mother. It has a nice flavor and makes an excellent pot of tea. My mother is truly enjoying the authenticity of the tea!I love, LOVE, this tea. I used to only drink it hot, but when I ran out of my usual iced tea bags I reached for these bags and now I won’t make ice tea with any other kind. This makes the best flavored, super clear, non bitter iced tea I’ve ever made. I use 4 bags to 1 gallon water and 1/2 cup (up to 3/4) sugar. I melt the sugar in about 2 cups of boiled water, then steep 4 bags in 2 quarts of boiled water (2-3 minutes ONLY). Add the 2qt brewed tea and 2c of sugar water together to your empty gallon jug, then run more hot or cool water over the spent bags to rinse out any residual tea, enough to finish the jug. Do NOT squeeze bags! let it cool on the counter then put it in the fridge. MY TEA COMES OUT CRYSTAL CLEAR EVERY TIME.My absolute favorite tea. Can thank Katie McGrath for this.Great tea! I bought both the Gold and Classic and they both are great. The Gold blend actually has a beautiful golden color to it when it is steeped, is strong flavored, so smooth, and not bitter. The Classic blend has a beautiful brown coloration when it is steeped, has a slight malty flavor to it, and is also smooth. I always drink mine with a little half & half and honey, which sometimes can weaken the taste of some teas, but with these teas that's not an issue at all and both the Gold and Classic jeeps their taste. These teas make my morning brighter.The one thing I wanted to mention is I have seen other reviews saying when they received their package their was dark discoloration and it was moldy. They had pictures up on their reviews and it appeared their tea was still wrapped in the plastic. When I received mine I saw the same thing, but I actually opened my package and all that it is is just tea dust from the bags inside. The lid pf the packaging doesn't have a very tight seal and the bags inside aren't in their own separate packaging like some teas are, so some of the dust gets loose. The packaging and teas are fine, clean, and mold free. I'm totally happy with my purchases.Had this on many trips to the UK, but couldn’t find it here in California.My sister used to steal my box when she came to visit!I thought it could get no better having drank Barry's original ( the non- gold version, though I think it is just called Barry's). Barry"s Gold is even better. I think. Smoother, maybe creamier in mouthfeel. Just delicious. Nothing astringent nor tart. Just smooth and clean yet flavorful and full. This tea, PG Tips Gold, and Lyons Gold are all excellent. I have been on a mission a few years discerning the best black tea. These 3 are ultra winners. I just can't see how anyone would be disappointed in any of these.First had Barry’s tea in Ireland. So happy to find it in US. I have recommended it to friends and they love it.I am drinking Barry's tea since I lived in Ireland. Lyons just did not do it for me.I am now back in Germany and still like the taste of Barry's tea most. My whole family and friends drink it, too. I buy in bulk and bring it with me when I visit friends abroad, since they ask me to!That's all there is to it. :-)Lovely colour box, nice to support the Irish economy but other than that didn't taste different to other premium tea brands. Definitely not a bad brew at all, the quality is there but for the price I was expecting more.I tried Barry's Irish Breakfast tea a few months ago and that did definitely taste different to other teas. It's a 'cleaner' flavour but it quickly grew on me and is now my favorite blend and make of tea! Still hard to justify £6-7 for a box of tea, but it's nice as an occasional treat.It’s so good it’s worth the money! It’s impossible to find it in the UK supermarkets so I always order it from the same provider. Jeff at Dowra Foods has been very helpful and the dispatch & delivery is always quick. Very happy with both the tea and the serviceLovely tasty tea, OK there not the cheapest tea bags, but must admit as a hardened Yorkshire tea man, Barry's tea blows them out of the water.I went to see John Fogerty in concert in Dublin 2018, the place we stayed at had Barry's tea, I thought it was amazing, I found myself getting up for a cup at 5am ! . . since I came back home to the Scottish Western Isles, I have continuously been ordering from Amazon.
