For 12 cups of coffee, this is what we think is the better size in the pre-measured bags of coffee...if you want to taste the coffee. We started out with ordering the 1.5 oz bags, then 2.0 oz, and finally these 2.5 oz bags. If you don't want 12 cups, then the 1.5oz is good for 8 cups and 2.0oz for 10 cups. We don't consider ourselves either mild or strong coffee drinkers, but we love to be able to have a smooth taste of coffee. Of course, this is our individual taste that can't be described for everyone, but I hope this helps.
